GRIFFIN SLATE
True Crime from the Shadows
Twenty years writing memoirs for major publishing houses behind closed doors. Now, the unfiltered accounts of the British underworld are laid bare under my own name.

THE GHOSTWRITER
Out of the Shadows
For two decades, I sat in cold rooms listening to men who do not talk to police. I shaped their lives into bestselling memoirs for major UK houses. In 2024, I walked away to write the unredacted truth.
“After twenty years telling other people’s stories, it was time to tell my own.”
THE TITLES
Unfiltered Accounts
These are street-level investigations of real cases, built on years of trusted contacts and raw evidence. No sensationalized drama, just the cold facts of the Canning Town underworld.
The Secret Gangster
I've just finished the strangest job of my writing life.
For the past while I've been working as a ghostwriter with a man who spent decades on the wrong side of the law — an ex-villain, in the old sense of the word. He wanted his story out there. He did not want his name on it. Those two things don't usually go together, but his reasons were his own, and they were good ones.
He trusted me. That's not a small thing for a man like him. He sat across from me, hour after hour, and told me everything he could — the jobs, the people, the prisons, the moments he's proud of and the ones that still keep him up at night. My job was to get it on the page exactly as he told it, without polishing the edges off. Nothing glamorised, nothing excused.
The result is The Secret Gangster. It's his life in his words — I just held the pen. The only thing missing is his name, and once you've read it, I think you'll understand why that's the least important part of the story.
